Why Work at Home?
There are countless benefits to working at home. Parents with children can alter their schedule and be there for them more. People with limited abilities to work outside the home can turn their life around. Those with dreams of traveling and seeing more of the world can reach their goals while maintaining a solid monthly income. These are all perfectly vital reasons to build a home based business. The absolute greatest benefit to working at home is the ability to be in control of your life, your time, and your own future. In today's world, this is the key to success. Downsizing, outsourcing, and minimizing are all taking a bite out of the American Dream. Americans have to find a way to bite back on their own terms and to build profitable and new ways of earning a stable, long term, and independent income.
Build a Dream to Build a Business
Starting something new, like building a home based business, means getting out of your comfort zone, stretching and growing a little bit in order to reach a new level of living. Human nature likes to keep us all in our comfort zone, doing at least what we know so that we don't have to try new things. Self motivation is the key to bringing yourself out of your comfort zone, trying baby steps, and succeeding. When we aren't encouraging ourselves, we tend to fall back and allow life to make decisions for us rather than reaching out and snatching our own life back into our own hands.
If you have a dream, a well thought out dream of changing your life and taking the new bull by the horns, then your motivation is right in front of you. The power to stretch a little everyday is right there. Dreams encourage us to work a little harder and to become more dedicated to our own cause. Dreams are the motivators for all the great and powerful people in history and in present day movers and shakers. Finding your dream is almost as important as finding the right business to join. Without dreams we often opt for doing as little required of us as possible.
Have a Dream and Use it
Write it down. Whatever dreams and desires move you take a moment every week to write them down. Add details to it that you hadn't considered before and use your imagination to come up with every last little moment that would make your dream "perfect" in your eyes. This ritual will not only help to keep your dream on the forefront of your daily business dealings, but it will also help you through those moments when things might not go your way. It is easy to quit on a business idea. It is not so easy to quit on a dream.
Your home based business success is within your control. You have the power to alter the direction of your life and you have the power to use your imagination to work for you. There will always be stumbling blocks in home based business or any other aspect of life that runs the risk of putting you ahead of the game. Don't be afraid to use your aspirations as the fire in your belly that gets you moving in the right direction every day.
Keep little reminders of your dream sprinkled throughout your home office. When you have a potential new sign up on the phone and they are taking your time, your energy, and your enthusiasm, your tangible dream items are right there to give you back your time, your energy, and your enthusiasm. These little dream tricks have been used by some of the greatest legends in the world to make their lives into the storybook endings we all know and love. Working at home requires independent thought and the ability to keep yourself motivated, and having those little dream reminders throughout your office will help empower you to do just that.
Beware of Dream Crushers
For some reason, our society doesn't deal with dreamers very well. We like to share our dreams with others and we enjoy positive feedback when we do. However, when that positive feedback is missing, people love to replace it with negative feedback. This response to your dream is really not your problem. Dream crushers are usually uncomfortable with dreamers because it reminds them of how they gave up on the idea, and nobody likes to be reminded of the fact that they settled. When someone responds negatively to you dreams, try offering them compassion but don't let them turn your dream into something foolish. It's not. Your dream is just as much your fuel as food and air and water. It keeps you living and breathing your home based business goals, and there is nothing more precious than taking control of your life and changing it for the better. Guard your fuel with a passion, and maintain that your dream is your own. Nobody out there is going to go achieve your dream for you, so why let them destroy it for you? It is only yours to achieve or destroy.
Build a Business of Dreamers
Once you have realized the powerful home based business fuel that keeping your dream tangible and close provides, teach others in your business how to accomplish their own business fuel ritual. Hold discussions, assign email assignments, and provide the positive feedback that others will find missing out there in the world. Keep asking them why working at home is so precious to them. This action alone reduces the drop out rate in almost any business simply because it is the only place that many associates will receive positive feedback about their dreams and aspirations. Your business building techniques might seem a little unorthodox to some, but your results will prove to you and others that home based businesses need dreamers just as much, or more, as they need entrepreneurs.
